ABOUT FIRST FICTION TOUR

Created in 2003, First Fiction is a partnership between independent bookstores, publishers and bar/restaurant/theaters to create a unique literary event in support of first-time authors of fiction.

Leading independent bookstores partner with local bars and restaurants to bring their communities together to create an event in celebration of tour first time fiction authors. Benefits of the program include a larger audience for readings, unique marketing and media coverage for the tour and individual city events, and enhanced opportunities to hand sell books in a receptive environment.

The tour, organized and promoted by Cindy Dach, travels to a minimum of six cities. Four first time fiction authors travel to all designated tour cities. They each read from or discusses their book, participate in a Q & A, alongside the other participating authors, and then sign copies of their books during a reception that follows. All readings take place outside of the bookstores. Every venue offers a drink special.

This is a one of kind experience for touring authors, offering them a community, expanded media interest from first city to last.
